What you should know

Most Americans must now have health insurance. If you need insurance, you can buy a new plan through Covered California.

  • Apply online through or by calling 1-800-300-1506.
  • You may qualify for premium assistance or for low-cost Medi-Cal.
  • The next open enrollment period is November 15, 2014 - February 15, 2015.
  • You can apply at other times of the year if you had a big life change or lost your insurance.
  • You also can apply for Medi-Cal anytime.
