What you should know

Most Americans must now have health insurance. If you need insurance, you can buy a new plan through Covered California.

  • Apply online through www.coveredca.com or by calling 1-800-300-1506.
  • Open enrollment ends March 31, 2014. Be insured before this deadline to avoid a tax penalty.
  • You may qualify for premium assistance or for low-cost Medi-Cal.
