Sandra Perez Speaking at an OPA Event!The staff of the Office of the Patient Advocate (OPA) travel throughout the state to hear community concerns and to assure that consumers have the tools they need to make informed decisions about their health care, as well as, receive appropriate services from their providers based on California law. OPA staff may also be available to meet with consumer groups and to speak about navigating the managed care system and other related topics. Find out how you can schedule an event with OPA.

The Office of the Patient Advocate's Consumer Education and Awareness team is dedicated to providing consumers with information on how to best access their health care and be informed of their rights and responsibilities. In addition, the Office of the Patient Advocate offers community awareness through their HMO Enrollee Regional Outreach and Information Centers (HEROICS). The HEROICS are 16 community based organizations located throughout California providing consumers in their communities with local assistance and the useful tools OPA has developed for HMO enrollees.
