OPA’s Report Cards on health plans and medical groups are created using several sources of health care quality data. Learn more about the specific data sources and methodology for calculating the ratings for each report card below:

Data Partners

OPA’s data partners are leaders in measuring and aggregating health care performance data. We are proud to work with the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the Integrated Healthcare Association, and the Purchaser Business Group on Health in our efforts to improve and report on health care performance quality.

Requesting Data From OPA

Some of the data files from OPA’s annual Health Care Quality Report Cards are available through the CalHHS Open Data Portal.

Other files for the OPA Report Cards may be available upon request. To request a data file, please provide the following information:

  1. Your name, title and contact information
  2. Name of your organization
  3. Research topic and an explanation on how the data will be used and/or published
  4. The data that you need.
